ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 will be the 10th World Cup. Prior to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, 9 Cricket World Cups have been organized by ICC. Australia have emerged winner on the most occasions – 4. Closely following is West Indies, who won the inaugural and the very next World Cup. All the Indian Subcontinent teams – India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka have won 1 World Cup each. Australia won in 1987, 1999, 2003 and 2007. West Indies won on 1975 (the first World Cup) and 1979. India won the World Cup in 1983, Pakistan won the World Cup in 1992 and Sri Lanka won in 1996.

The 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup will be the tenth Cricket World Cup and will be hosted by three South Asian Test cricket playing countries: India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. It will be Bangladesh's first time co-hosting a Cricket World Cup. The World Cup will use cricket's One Day International format, with fourteen national cricket teams scheduled to compete. The World Cup will take place between February and early April 2011, with the first match to be played on 19 February 2011 with co-hosts India and Bangladesh facing off at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.

Immediately after the World Cup fever of 2007 subsides the fans would be counting the days to the next World Cup to be held in 2011. The 2011 Cricket World Cup will be the tenth time the tournament would be held. The World Cup of 2011 is scheduled to take place in the Indian sub-continent and the four countries that are going to host the 2011 World Cup are India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan. India would host 22 matches, Pakistan 16, Sri Lanka 9 and Bangladesh 6. The final of the World Cup will be played at a state-of-the-art stadium to be built near the banks of the river Yamuna. The 2011 World Cup will also allow the non-Test Cricketing sides to compete.

The Board of Cricket Counsel of India has released the list of Indian team of 30 probables for 2011 World Cup. The new surprise entries like Parthiv Patel, Ajinkya Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli and R Ashwin.
Chairman of the Selection Committee K Srikanth stated that the players have been choosen purely on basis of their merit and the final team will be selected in a month’s time.

The team will be led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni as the Captain and Virender Sehwag as the Vice Captain. Others included are Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli, Yusuf Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, Praveen Kumar, Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra, Munaf Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin and Piyush Chawla.

The huge surprise was the omission of most experience batsman Sanath Jayasuriya and bowler Chaminda Vaas.
The squad announcement process has begun and many teams have finalized their cricket team’s squad. Sri Lanka after including Chaminda Vaas and Jayasuriya surprisingly in their preliminary squad finally announced their 15-member squad, dropping both the players. A dream came true for England. They have been waiting for it to happen for years. The magic moment came tonight at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados.

Earlier, England had played the final of ICC World Cup (ODI) thrice and once in the ICC Champions Trophy final. But the title always eluded them, as they lost in all finals.

The match between England and Australia was termed as a clash of titans. But England had something else in mind. They dominated the proceedings from the very beginning and made it a one-sided affair.

England won the toss and elected to field first. The bowlers did their job and Australia slumped to 8/3 at one stage. Cameron White, David Hussey and Michael Clarke batted sensibly help Australia reach a respectable total.

Australia finished at 147/6 in 20 overs. David Hussey was the top scorer with 59, while White made 30. Michael Clarke contributed 27. For England, Ryan Sidebottom took 2 wickets.

Chasing a victory target of 148, England batsmen played their part and reached the target 148 in 17 overs. They lost just 3 wickets in the process.

Zimbabwe face a difficult grouping, but should they succeed they will feel that they have accomplished more than even the eventual winners will.

Bangladesh Team

Sstatistically speaking Bangladesh is the worst of the qualified teams in the Twenty20 arena, ranking below even Afghanistan and Ireland. The weakness in the youngest Test nation's team is its batting.

Bangladesh's bowling has grown in maturity over recent years - captain Shakib Al Hasan is rated the second best ODI bowler in the world and Abdur Razzak is at a respectable 20.

Ireland Team

Ireland have named a full-strength squad for the World Twenty20 in West Indies with Boyd Rankin, the tall pace bowler, fit again after a foot injury to take his place in the 15-man party led by William Porterfield.
Ireland are grouped with England and West Indies during the first phase of the tournament and will be aiming to repeat their success from the 2009 event when they reached the Super Eights. With England having an indifferent Twenty20 record and the hosts in the midst of rebuilding Ireland shouldn't be underestimated.

"We are excited about facing India. We have been working hard and we want to give them a big fight. We will make it hard for them and hope to make an upset. We are not just going there just to participate," Kabir told AFP. Afghanistan made the cut for the tournament by winning the qualifying tournament in the United Arab Emirates. They begin their campaign against India in St. Lucia on May 1 and then meet South Africa in Barbados on May 5.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were crowned IPL III champions after thumping Mumbai Indians by 22 runs in a thrilling summit clash here on April 25, 2010.

Mumbai Indians does not create much impact in the final, despite the fact that captain Tendulkar’s (48 off 45 balls) heroics and Pollard’s (27 off 10 balls) fierce hits at the end, Mumbai Indians ended up with 146 for nine in 20 overs.

The Chennai Super Kings (team) gave a remarkable performance in the field though; Mumbai Indians who dropped Suresh Raina twice had to hand the match to CSK.

In late June 2007, two men met in an English house, not far from the rain-drenched Wimbledon Championships, to discuss a very different sporting event. Lalit Modi, Vice-President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) brainstormed with Andrew Wildblood of the International Management Group (IMG), the sports management giants. In April 2008, the maiden IPL tournament that Mr. Modi had conceived and developed, was underway.

February 2008 saw the frantic player auction that created a media frenzy. Among the bidders were some of India’s richest and most powerful names, from industrialists to film stars, adding to the event’s lustre. As the sums on offer began to emerge – $1.5m for Mahendra Singh Dhoni, $1.35m for Andrew Symonds, $950,000 for the inexperienced Ishant Sharma – cricket raised its eyebrows, held its breath and braced itself for a new era.

The opening ceremony was like nothing the sport had seen before and would not have been out of place as a curtain raiser for the Olympic Games. And much to everyone's satisfaction, the cricket lived up to all expectations. The world witnessed the first ever Twenty20 competition played on a scale comparable to the biggest events in sporting history.

The public's imagination was captured even before Warne's Rajashtan Royals embarked on their competition-defining run. Helped by the presence at matches – and, invariably on the next morning’s front pages – of Bollywood stars such as Shah Rukh Khan, owner of the Kolkata franchise, and Preity Zinta, co-owner of the Kings XI Punjab, the early matches of the IPL attracted a huge television audience.

After the spectacular success of the inaugural tournament, news that the 2009 IPL would have to be played overseas was met with some resistance. But right from the magnificent opening ceremony to the closing festivities, viewers stayed hooked to the mega event that saw the Deccan Chargers led by Adam Gilchrist take top honours. In the words of Mr. Modi, "It's been a success thanks to the people of South Africa."

The Indian Premier League has moved from strength to strength in its two early editions. And the world has taken notice. The IPL has even made it to the fourth spot of the Forbes list of the world's hottest sporting properties. The competition returns to India in March 2010 after its South African safari in 2009. Deccan Chargers

The reigning title-holders of the second edition of the IPL, Deccan Chargers had a fairytale second season. Plagued by poor performances, the team was placed at the bottom of the table at the end of IPL’s first season. But they scripted an incredible turnaround in the second edition in South Africa, claiming the title. Much credit for Deccan Chargers’ rags to riches story goes to their captain Adam Gilchrist who was instrumental in Australia's three ICC World Cup wins.

His compatriot Darren Lehmann joined the team as coach for the IPL’s second edition. The side has a good balance in terms of their pace attack led by the fiery Fidel Edwards and the steady RP Singh. In the Champions League Twenty20, however, Deccan choked in the final over in both their games, so now comes the big chance to redeem themselves at home.

Rajasthan Royals

IPL 2009 got underway with Bollywood diva Shilpa Shetty and her then fiance Raj Kundra also joining the franchise as co-owners. Kaif was left out and Watson was unavailable. Tyron Henderson, who was roped in after a tug-of-war with KXIP, played just one game. Yusuf Pathan starred in a win over KKR in the only Super Over of the tournament. At the 2010 auction, Rajasthan bought two Australian players - Adam Voges and in a surprise move, the out of action Damien Martyn. The team had bought out Tyron Henderson, Robert Quiney and Mohd Kaif prior to the auction.

Chennai Super Kings

Chennai Super Kings, owned by India Cements, managed to get the prized services of Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the inaugural edition of IPL. Quite understandably, the Indian captain commanded the highest price at the player auctions - a whopping USD 1.5 million. Australia's batting tour de force Matthew Hayden was roped in to give the batting a destructive edge - and he played his role to perfection in two successive seasons.

Stephen Fleming, who doubled as coach in the second season; the wily Muralidaran; batsman Suresh Raina; and all-rounder Albie Morkel helped Chennai reach the final. When the second round of auctions took place, Andrew Flintoff joined as one of the highest-paid players. In 2009, Hayden scored prolifically while his team entered the semi-final, only to be pipped at the post by RCB. Fleming has now been bought out by the side and is just the coach. At the 2010 auction, the team bought South African Justin Kemp, they also brought in Sri Lankan Thisara Perera for a sum of USD 50,000.

Mumbai Indians

Sachin Tendulkar was named captain and icon player of Mumbai Indians, the highest-priced side, owned by the Reliance Group of Companies, ahead of the inaugural IPL. The team had some turbo-charged players like Jayasuriya, Shaun Pollock, Harbhajan and Malinga. The side, however, failed to deliver on its promise in the inaugural competition, despite some memorable performances like that of the young all-rounder Abhishek Nayar.

The second season opened with two new names for the side - Zaheer Khan, who was brought in from RCB, and batsman Shikhar Dhawan from Daredevils. JP Duminy, the South African powerhouse, was roped in, fresh from his success in Australia. But the side could not quite make it even this time round, bowing out of the competition before the semis. Kyle Mills and Mohd. Ashraful have been bought out. At the 2010 auction, they bagged the biggest player of them all � Kieron Pollard � at USD 750,000 after winning the silent tie-breaker. Harshal Patel from the U-19 side has also found a place in the side.

Kings XI Punjab

Kings XI Punjab have an aura of glamour and verve around them thanks to owners Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia. They boast the services of the flamboyant Yuvraj Singh and dependable Sangakkara; the destructive Irfan Pathan and experienced Jayawardene. So when the first edition of the IPL kicked off, the team from India's lion-hearted state were looked on with awe and admiration. But the side could not progress beyond the semi-final stage.. In 2009, the spectacular South African setting did little to embellish the team's chances - they bowed out before the semis, depleted by the absence of Brett Lee and Sreesanth at various stages. Left-arm paceman Yusuf Abdulla was one of the finds of the tournament and he has been retained for the third edition. Luke Pomersbach and Nuwan Kulasekara were bought our ahead of the 2010 auction while they picked former India batsman Mohammed Kaif who is expected to recreate the magic with Yuvraj Singh in the Punjab side under new captain Kumar Sangakkara.

Delhi Daredevils

Delhi Daredevils, owned by GMR Industries, have a number of genuine match-winners in their squad. They boast of Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir at the top of the order while wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik beefs up the middle-order. Tillakaratne Dilshan, along with AB de Villiers, has been a revelation in this format. Veteran Daniel Vettori adds depth to the squad. Daredevils made it to the semis in the first season.

In the second season, they rode high on the strength of Dirk Nannes' pace, topped the league, but again, lost in the semis. Gambhir has now stepped in as captain after Sehwag decided to step down. Dehi have bought out Oz legend Glenn McGrath before the third season. They picked up Wayne Parnell, the South African all-rounder for a whopping USD 610,000 at the 2010 auction. They also included the U-19 player Manan Sharma in their ranks.

Kolkata Knight Riders

When Shahrukh Khan - India's biggest movie star - co-purchased the Kolkata Knight Riders franchise, the nation couldn't help but feel an affinity with the side. And when Brendon McCullum stormed into the competition with a whirlwind 158*, it drew a collective gasp of admiration from fans of the sport across the world. If Sourav helmed the side, then there was John Buchanan who powered the think-tank. But the team could not live up to expectations.

In the second season, suggestions of a multiple-captain approach drew a lot of debate but as it turned out, McCullum ended up leading the side throughout. But the side's prospects did not improve. KKR ended the tournament pretty close to the bottom of the table. Ricky Ponting and Morne van Wyk have been bought out ahead of Season 2010, while Shane Bond has been bought at USD 750,000. U-19 player Harpreet Singh has also been picked for the tournament

Royal Challengers Bangalore

Royal Challengers Bangalore, like Deccan Chargers, had ended up at the bottom of the table in the inaugural edition of IPL. Both teams ended up meeting in the final of IPL 2009 in South Africa. Anil Kumble-led RCB with great heart, but was unable to win the title. Kumble's most impressive virtues as a cricketer - grit and determination - came to the fore in South Africa. The side lost four of their first five matches in IPL 2009, but made a startling comeback to make it to the semi-finals.

The team qualified for the CLT20 but could not qualify for the knock-out stage. The team has undergone a sea-change in terms of personnel and support staff from Season 2008 with new coach Ray Jennings making a huge impact. Regular captain Kevin Pietersen's participation is still debatable owing to an extended injury break. Their only buy at the 2010 auction was Englishman Eoin Morgan, but they also have in their ranks India's under-19 captain Ashok Menaria while Nathan Bracken has been bought out.

Australia beats Germany 2-1 in World Cup field hockey final
New Delhi: Breaking News! A spirited and rejuvenated Australian team proved excellence in field hockey and won the FIH Hockey World Cup 2010. Australia beat Germany 2-1 in the final at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi.

Germany, which was eying for a hat-trick Hockey World Cup title, were left disappointed with the loss, but they will certainly admit that they were outclassed by the Kangaroos today. Germany had won the Hockey World Cup in 2002 and 2006.

It was Australia's first Hockey World Cup title in the last 24 years. The last time they had won the World Cup in 1986. Australia started their World Cup campaign with a loss against England. However, they never looked back after that and went on to win the gold medal.
Germany had to be content with a silver medal. Their players looked dejected after the loss. For Australia,Eddie Ockenden and Luke Doerner scored the goals. For Germany, Moritz Furste scored the lone goal.

India's hosting of the event was put in doubt, however, when the FIH reviewed the progress of the 'Indian Hockey Federations "Promoting Indian Hockey" program and India's preparation for the championship, and warned that "satisfactory progress had not been made in either area". India was warned it could lose the right to host the World Cup unless satisfactory progress was made. It was confirmed on July 18, 2008 that International Hockey Federation formally awarded the hosting rights to India.

India have qualified for the Hero Honda FIH 2010 World Cup as tournament hosts. It is the second time in history that India hosts the FIH World cup. Previously, Bombay (nowadays known as Mumbai) staged the competition in 1982.
Hockey is alive in India, the country with arguably the most formidable pedigree in men's hockey, having won 11 Olympic medals including an unparalleled eight golds. Spaniard Jos� Manuel Brasa is in charge of helping return India to its previous lore, which is no mean feat. In 2008, India's gradual demise led to them missing out on the Olympic Games for the first time since 1920. India have not won a medal in a major international competition since winning a Champions Trophy bronze in 1982, coincidentally the year in which India previously hosted the World Cup.

Pakistan Hockey Team

Pakistan qualified for the Hero Honda FIH 2010 World Cup by defeating Japan 3-1 in the final of the first of three World Cup qualifiers. The return of Sohail Abbas, the penalty corner specialist and all-time world record holder for most international goals, inspired hockey giants Pakistan in the French town of Lille which hosted the qualifier. An Abbas brace in the final raised his tournament leading goal total to nine.
Pakistan, record holders with four FIH World Cups, are out to prove a point. They have not finished in the top four of the World Cup or the Olympic Games since winning the FIH World Cup in Sydney in 1994. After losing the final of the Champions Challenge to New Zealand in December 2009, Pakistan are certain of missing out on the Champions Trophy, a tournament conceived in Pakistan itself, for the third straight year.

Australia Hockey Team

Australia qualified for the Hero Honda FIH 2010 World Cup by defeating New Zealand 3-1 in the final of the Oceania Cup, held in Invercargill, New Zealand, in August 2009. Besides the two Oceanian forces, the 2009 Oceania Cup featured only one other nation, Samoa, a side that was crushed 26-0 by the Kookaburras. In the final, Australia fell behind 1-0 to the Black Sticks, but two Grant Schubert goals put the Australians in front for good.
Australia look as ready as they have ever been to win their second FIH World Cup and their first since 1986. That winning campaign was led by Ric Charlesworth, then the superstar, now the head coach. The 57-year-old Charlesworth is aiming to become only the second individual to win the World Cup both as a player and as a coach. The first to achieve that was Holland's Hans Jorritsma who was part of the Dutch national team in 1973 and then led Holland (1990) and Pakistan (1994) to the trophy.

New Zealand Hockey Team

New Zealand qualified for the Hero Honda FIH 2010 World Cup by defeating Malaysia 2-1 in the final of the second out of three World Cup qualifiers. Before a local crowd in Invercargill, the Black Sticks erased a 1-0 Malaysia lead with Andrew Hayward scoring his sixth and tournament leading seventh goal on a weekend that also saw New Zealand men's national football team qualify for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Apart from New Zealand and Malaysia, the qualifier also included Scotland, China, Austria and Wales.
Head coach Shane McLeod represented the Black Sticks as a player from 1995 to 1997, a relatively low point for Kiwi Hockey, with New Zealand failing to qualify for any of the three major competitions during that stretch. Now looks like the time for McLeod and his men to reach for an all-time high.

England Hockey Team

England qualified for the Hero Honda FIH 2010 World Cup by emerging as the proud winners of last summer's EuroHockey Nations Tournament that took place in Amstelveen, Netherlands. England effectively sealed their World Cup berth by reaching the semifinals in that competition, which granted four entries to the World Cup. England are gearing up for the 2012 Summer Olympics, which will be hosted by London. Winning the 2009 EuroHockey Nations or European Championship was a welcome step in establishing themselves as one of the favourites there. The 2010 World Cup marks the next important hurdle for the English, who typically make up the bulk of the Great Britain teams venturing into the Olympics. At the 2009 EuroHockey Nations Championship, Jason Lee's side dismissed hosts Holland in the semis before edging world and Olympic champions Germany in the final.

Canada Hockey Team

Canada qualified for the Hero Honda FIH 2010World Cup by triumphing in the 2009 Pan American Cup (not to be confused with the Pan American Games), which took place in Santiago, Chile, in March 2009. In the semifinals, Canada frustrated Argentina, like they had done several times before, beating the South Americans 4-3 after extra time. In the final, they met a defiant United States team, which was ultimately vanquished 2-1 after extra time. In that match, Paul Wettlaufer scored the golden goal that propelled Canada to the 2010 World Cup.

Netherlands Hockey Team

Netherlands qualified for the Hero Honda FIH 2010 World Cup by finishing in third place at the 2009 Euro Hockey Nations Tournament, which took place in their home stadium in Amstelveen. Netherlands effectively sealed their World Cup berth by reaching the semifinals in that competition, which granted four entries to the World Cup.
Returning to the top of the hockey world and looking down on creation is Holland's principal aim for the 2010 FIH World Cup, but they will have to go through nations that have had their number in recent years: Australia and Germany. Also, they must fend off upstart opponents like Argentina and possibly England as well as the dangerous Koreans. The latter moved into the semifinals at the expense of Holland at the 2006 World Cup and also haunted them in the 2009 Champions Trophy.
German Hockey Team
Germany qualified for the Hero Honda FIH 2010 World Cup by finishing runners-up at the 2009 EuroHockey Nations Tournament, which took place in Amstelveen, Netherlands. Germany effectively sealed their World Cup berth by reaching the semifinals in that competition, which granted four entries to the World Cup.
Germany are reigning Olympic champions and two time defending world champions and are making a bid to become the first nation to win the FIH World Cup three times in a row. In a balanced team like Germany's, there is room for one superstar. 2006 FIH Young Player of the Year Christopher Zeller is an astute striker and also one of the world's most feared penalty corner specialists.

Spain Hockey Team

Spain qualified for the Hero Honda FIH 2010 World Cup by finishing in fourth place at the 2009 EuroHockey Nations Tournament, which took place in Amstelveen, Netherlands. Spain effectively sealed their World Cup berth by reaching the semifinals in that competition, which granted four entries to the World Cup.
After winning another silver medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Spain must feel that a gold medal is their due. Having won medals seven times in World Cup and Olympics, but never the gold, will feel trying at times. Spain's major successes in international men's hockey have been winning the 2004 Champions Trophy and the 2005 European Championship, top achievements that are even trumped by their female counterparts, who won the 1992 Olympic Games, despite creating considerably less waves through the years. South Korea Hockey Team

South Korea (or: Korea Republic) qualified for the Hero Honda FIH 2010 World Cup by defeating Pakistan 1-0 in the final of the Asia Cup, a tournament held in Kuantan Pahang, Malaysia, in May 2009. The competition featured all the Asian forces in men's hockey. Apart from Korea and Pakistan, Malaysia, Japan, India, China and Bangladesh also were present.
Without ever having won a major competition, it is still fair to say that Korea are among the most dangerous opponents to any side in the world today. The closest they came to raising a trophy in a major tournament came when they finished runners-up in the 1999 Champions Trophy and the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. Counting them out or underestimating them is a capital mistake. In the 2009 Champions Trophy in Melbourne, they opened with a 4-0 whitewash defeat against Australia and then rebounded by defeating world champions Germany 5-3, following up with a 2-1 upset of Netherlands. They denied Holland once again in the bronze medal match, collecting their third CT medal and their first since 2000.

South Africa Hockey Team

South Africa qualified for the Hero Honda FIH 2010 World Cup by defeating Egypt 3-1 in the final of the 2009 Africa Cup, which took place in Accra, Ghana, in July 2009. The tournament also included the host nation and Nigeria. South Africa cruised to victory, the goal they conceded in the final being the only one allowed in the tournament, and their last goal in the final being the 21st they put on the opposition.
Head coach Gregg Clark is charged with the task to return South Africa to respectability. They have finished last and second to last in the previous two World Cups and they have also finished bottom in the 2008 Olympic Games, a tournament played under Clark's tutelage. Losing the eleventh place final against China must have hurt with the elated hosts remarkably celebrating like an Olympic medal had just been won. However, that certainly cannot have hurt as much as the 10-0 beating at the hands of Australia in their second group match. The Springboks left China with their tails between their legs, having lost all of their six matches and conceding 29 goals in those six defeats.

Argentina Hockey Team

Argentina became the last of 12 nations to qualify for the Hero Honda FIH 2010 World Cup, by emerging victorious in the third and final World Cup qualifier, which took place before a home crowd in Quilmes. On 21 November 2009, the Argentines dismissed a feisty Belgian side 4-3 in the final, after booking group stage victories against the Czech Republic, the United States, Ireland and Chile.
When Argentina won the bronze medal at the 2008 Champions Trophy it marked the first time silverware had been won by any nation from the Americas in any major international men's hockey competition. The onus of an encore is on the shoulders of 40-year-old head coach Pablo Lombi, who, as a player, represented his country in the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games and the 1994 FIH World Cup. Those are not the only exploits of the Lombi family. Pablo Lombi's younger brother Jorge was joint top scorer at the 2002 World Cup in Kuala Lumpur on 10 goals.

Men’s Hockey 2010 World Cup Format

Twelve participants of the tournament will be divided into two pools of 6 teams each. In each pool, all of the six teams will play against each other once in a round robin league system. Winning team of each game will be awarded 3 points, while the losing team will not earn any point. For drawn matches, both teams will be given 1 point each. So, each of the 12 teams will play 5 matches in the preliminary stage of the tournament. Based on the points achieved through the matches played in the preliminary stage, top two teams from each pool will progress to the semi final. Winners of the two semi finals will meet in the final, while the loosing semi finalists will take on each other in the third and fourth place deciding match.
Teams who will fail to make it to the semi final will compete for the places starting from 5^th to 12^th through four more matches. Third placed teams from each pool will take on each other for the 5^th place. Winning team will win the 5^th place, while the losing side will finish 6^th in the tournament. In the same way, teams finished 4^th in each pool will play for the 7^th place and this match will determine the 7^th and 8^th places. Teams finishing 5^th in both pool will face each other in a playoff to determine the 9^th and 10^th places. Last two places (11^th and 12^th) will be decided through the playoff between the teams finishing 6^th in each pool in the preliminary round.

One of the greatest players to have ever played the game, Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar has been the greatest icon of world cricket for almost two decades now. He can score all around the wicket, off both front foot and back, and has made runs in all parts of the world. Don Bradman confessed that Tendulkar reminded him of himself and this perhaps speaks volumes of the latter's greatness.With infinite records to his name, Sachin is widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket. Each time he comes to bat, he carries the expectation of millions of people with him and comes good more often than not, which only reinforces the enormity of this genius. His opening partnerships with Sourav Ganguly marked one of the most successful phases of Indian cricket. Sachin Tendulkar scored 200 runs in second ODI against South Africa today at Gwalior. Sachin is first cricketer to score double century in ODI matches. It was his 411th ODI match. To score 200 runs, Tendulkar played 147 balls. With this Sachin creates World record for highest runs and also only player to score double century in ODI matches.
Sachin 25 boundaries and three sixes. Before this the highest score of Sachin in ODI was 187 runs. He took 56 singles and 13 double runs in his historic inning.
With this Sachin become highest run scorer in ODI format. Sachin broke the record of Saeed Anwar of 194 runs which was against India.
